New Identification rules when flying with Ryanair.
Ryanair has issued a reminder to all passengers that, from Thursday 1 October 2009, a driver’s licence will no longer be a valid form of identification. Passengers will be required to bring their passport or a government issued National Identity Card (issued solely for identification) to the airport. A spokesman said that passengers must ensure that they have a valid form of identification to travel on Ryanair flights. Ryanair has moved to simplify our identification policy to avoid passenger confusion and from 1st October all Ryanair passengers must hold a valid passport or a valid National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country. “Passengers arriving at an airport with a driver’s licence or any other forms of non-valid identification will be unable to travel on Ryanair flights.” It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to mke sure that they have valid identification as described below.
The airline does not accept residence cards or military id cards etc.Expired or damaged forms of photo-id will not be accepted.Details of all passengers travel documents must be intered at the check in point along with their boarding pass at the security point and again at the boarding gate.
When flying with Ryanair and looking for competitive airport parking or airport hotel parking go online for a super choice of secure car parks and hotels close to the airport with transfers included. |
