Istanbul is European Culture Capital for 2010.  

Istanbul has been named the "European Capital of Culture for 2010. The title is held for one year, during which it has the opportunity to showcase its cultural life and development. Many more tourists will head  to Istanbul and the city is preparing for the extra influx of visitors and media attention.

According to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, British holidaymakers have been taking holidays in  Istanbul due to Turkey being located outside the eurozone.The Turkish lira offers good value when compared with the euro meaning a destination such as Istanbul is more affordable for British holidaymakers.

Irfan Onal, director of Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, said that Turkey is one of the most popular holiday destinations for British tourists, who constitute a vital part of Turkey's tourism market.

He stated that more than two million British tourists went to Turkey for a trip during the first nine months of 2009. 

Turkey is fast becoming a golfers paradise and golf fans are being attracted to the country because of opportunities to play the sport in the Belek region near Antalya.   It is only a 30 minute drive to Belek from Antalya Airport.   There at least ten beautiful golf courses in the area, and around forty 5-star hotels and golf resorts from which to cheese from, all spread along the meditteranean coast.

There are daily flights from most key UK airports including Manchester, Birmingham Stansted and Gatwick.
