Boeings new 787 dreamliner to enter service at manchester and Gatwick airports
Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner completed its maiden flight for the first time back in December 2009, and after delays in the Boeing 787 introduction programme the aircraft will enter service later this year.
Members of the public will be able to witness the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the first time as it lands next week at Farnborough Air Show in the UK.The new Aircraft, will be showcased alongside its rival Airbus's A380 superjumbo at the show, which runs from July 19 - 25.
It will be the official debut of the Boeing 787, with scheduled tours offered by Boeing to trade visitors on July 19 and 20. The Boeing is expected to land at 9AM on Sunday July18th and leave again on July 20th as part of a series of final test flights.
The lightweight structure of the Dreamliner is expected to signal a new generation of lighter, greener aircraft, and will carry around 300 passengers.
A higher level of cabin pressurization will stop many passengers getting headaches and feeling unwell, resulting in a more comfortable journey.
Boeing have stated that it will be considerably quieter during take-off and emissions will be some 20 per cent lower making it cheaper and more environmentally-friendly.
First Choice hope to introduce the fleet of 12 aircraft in late summer this year. Each B787 will replace a B767 on longer routes. This is estimated to take around two years. It is thought that six aircraft will be based at Manchester Airport and the other six at Gatwick.
