East Midlands Airport Win BITC award.

East Midlands Airport is celebrating a triple award success, having won three prestigious awards from the Prince of Wales' charity, Business in the Community (BITC).

The airport has been awarded two regional awards for Work Inspiration and Sustainable Travel.

The Work Inspiration award applauds the airport's work experience programme and the

Sustainable Travel award was given for the airport's green campaign for staff travel.

In addition to these awards, the airport also received a National reaccreditation with a Big Tick award for the Merrill Lynch Climate Change award in the 2010 Awards for Excellence, organised by BITC.

The Big Tick awards are the UK's most influential, independent, peer assessed corporate responsibility awards and reward businesses which demonstrate the positive impact they have on society.

These awards demonstrate the success of the airport's continued commitments to sustainability, including reducing carbon emmissions, providing  green transport options for passengers and staff and improving job  opportunities in the neighbouring communities.
