£10m car rental centre opens at Edinburgh
Travellers to and from Edinburgh Airport will get an easier ride after the hub opened a new £10 million car rental centre.
The building is part of a £100 million investment in the airport over the next five years and means all leasing companies are now under one roof.
Edinburgh''s new addition was opened by rally driver and TV presenter Penny Mallory, Edinburgh West MP John Barrett and Gordon Dewar, the airport''s manager.
Mr Dewar says the car rental centre is part of the ongoing "transformation" of the Scottish airport, which is the country''s busiest.
"It will provide a one-stop shop for passengers, bringing together the many car rental companies based at Edinburgh Airport under one roof. For passengers, it will mean a more efficient, seamless service," he added.
The first phase of the investment plan for the hub was launched in February, consisting of a new security screening area and a wider choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
