British Airways is to reduce routes served from Gatwick next winter.The airline confirmed that the number of aircraft based at the airport will be cut from 35 to 32 from the start of the 2009/2010 winter schedule.

Travellers who have a weakness for a good pint of beer will be in their element in Iceland this year as the country celebrates the 20th anniversary of the beverage being legalised. Beer only became legal in Iceland in 1989, following 75 years of prohibition. Most flights are with Icelandair who are based at Heathrow Airport.
9th February, 2009 Bmi to go twice daily to Tel Aviv Bmi will add a second daily service from Heathrow to Tel Aviv from March 30 following high demand. Initially the twice-daily flights will be operated on A321 aircraft, but will switch to A330 aircraft from May 3. The new service means bmi will offer the first and last flight of the day from Tel Aviv to Heathrow.

Snow causes chaos at London Airports Heavy snow falls in London and the South East this morning has caused severe disruption to flights at a number of airports.Services at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, London City Airport and Southampton were badly affected, together with road, rail and public transport connections.

Passenger numbers fall likely to knock sale price for Gatwick Airport BAA's hopes of securing a top price for Gatwick received a setback yesterday when it was revealed that passenger numbers at the airport in November were down 13.5 per cent on the same month last year.
