Easyjet goes head to head with Aer Lingus
Easyjet is going head to head with Aer Lingus on three new routes from London Gatwick.
The airline will compete directly with the Irish carrier on daily flights to Munich, Vienna and Zurich from April.
EasyJet spokesman Andrew McConnell said: “We have been analysing these new routes for a while, and see this is a great opportunity.
"These new routes fit into our business model by continuing to connect major European cities.”
Aer lingus launches daily flights to Zurich on April 6, and to Vienna and Munich on April 20, with fares from £24.99 one way.
Easyjet will begin its daily flights to the three cities slightly earlier, on April 2, with one-way fares from £29.99.
It will also start flights from Gatwick to Bodrum on April 23.
Bodrum flights will operate three times a week, with one-way fares from £36.99.
Seats for all four new routes will be on sale later today.
