Manchester named Best Airport for Second Year Running at Awards Ceremony.

Judges looked specifically at sustainability efforts, customer satisfaction and innovative technology, with Manchester winning praise for its shift towards sustainable travel, its efforts to minimise the impact of increased security and its investment in customer experience.


Andrew Harrison, the base's commercial director, said: "To have received this highly prestigious title for the second year running is a huge accomplishment for Manchester Airport and highlights the hard work, dedication and successes achieved over the past 12 months."


The award follows the opening of Manchesters redevelopment of Terminals 1 and 2, £25 million of which went on transforming security.

American Airlines recently announced that it will launch new flights to New York JFK from Manchester on May 16th next year. Easy Jet was voted the best no frills carrier, and British Airways won the award for the top scheduled airline in Europe. Virgin Atlantic was named the best long-haul operator.
