Budget airline boasts no more check-in queues - Stansted Airport News
With many people booking their flights on the Internet, Ryanair has taken the step of discarding the traditional check-in desks and replacing them with an online based procedure. The idea is to reduce the cost of flights by getting rid of their soon to be redundant check-in desks. As from Wednesday 20th May all customers will be expected to check-in online prior to arriving at the airport and if they have luggage for the hold they must use the bag drop service. In addition you will also have to print out your own boarding pass and failure to do this will result in a £40 penalty. “Passengers travelling without bags to check in have already embraced our online check-in service and the extension of this service to all passengers, including those with hold luggage and those travelling with infants, will allow passengers to forever avoid check-in queues,” said Stephen McNamara of Ryanair. The original £10 check-in desk fee will also be waived and instead a £5 payment will be added onto each single flight booked. Ryanair added that this cost would not be put onto its promotional fares of free, €1 and €5 specials. |
