Air Stewrad Snaps At JFK Airport
An air steward aboard a Jetblue flight that had just landed at JFK International airport decided enough was enough and stormed off the plane via the emergency exit and slid down the inflatable shoot and drove home.
The extraordinary event took place after a dispute between two women while the plane was still at Pittsburgh before takeoff. The dispute was about over head storage space, Steven Slater 39 intervened and told one of the women they would have to check a large bag into the luggage hold.
Then on the arrival at JFK the same women stood up and started trying to remove her bag from the overhead compartment before the plane had come to a standstill. Mr Slater told the women to stop but ended up being hit on the head by the women’s bag. He asked her to apologise but she swore at him and refused.
The air steward then flipped, he took to the passenger announcement system and said for those of you who have shown dignity and respect over the last 20 years I thank you for the ride.
He then proceeded to open the emergency exit, which launched the inflatable slide. But before leaving the plane he grabbed some beer from the kitchen area of the aircraft before descending down the chute and driving home.
The story has taken the internet by storm and Steven Slater is now being hailed across the US as a hero for the working man, a facebook page has been set up which has attracted over 90,000 fans already.
Unfortunately Mr Slater has been arrested and does face the prospect of jail, while Jet Blue has also suspended him. |
