Gatwick
Airport Terminal Facilities
The first thing to look for when arriving at the airport
is a trolley. According to Gatwick’s official site there
are 7000 trolleys spread through the two terminals.
Gatwick Airport South Terminal
Check in and departures are on the
right of the terminal as you come and arrivals on the left.
International check in used to be
2 hours and whilst most operators work to this time- table
a few have extended this to take account of the extra security
measures now imposed. Domestic flights are one hour. Check
in for flights to the USA are now nearly all 3 hours and you
are strongly recommended to check your tickets.
No flight calls are made at Gatwick and you need to check
the monitors for flight times.
Baggage storage is located near Costa Coffee and a £4
charge is made for every 24 hours per item.
Facilities
The facilities provided by Gatwick are first class and prior
to and after security control the following can be found.
Shopping – the village on the mezzanine floor provides
a range of shops for clothing, gifts, shoes, medical requirements,
cameras, sunglasses, books, cards, games and music.
Food & Drink – Hot and cold snacks and drinks to
full restaurant food can be found at a variety of establishments.
Cash dispensers- Barclay, HSBC and Abbeylink.
Poastal Services- Mail box and stamps can be found in zone
F.
Toilets-are available throughout the terminal including facilities
for special needs and children changing facilities.
Bureaux de Change- Travelex and Thomas Cook provide foreign
exchange facilities.
Places of Worship- an inter faith chapel is available
Pay phones – available throughout the terminal
North Terminal
Check in is on the second floor and arrivals on the first.
