Getting to Nottingham East Midlands
Airport
The airport is situated in the countryside
near the small market town of Kegworth. Although the airport
is served by rail and bus these services are cumbersome often
requiring more than one connection. Getting to the airport
by car, mini-bus or taxi is the only easy option. Otherwise
a fair amount of luggage hauling is involved.
By Car
Nottingham East Midlands airport is
centrally located just off the M42, which is only a short
distance from the M1. Being centrally located, the airport
serves a wide catchment area. The major cities surrounding
the airport are Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Stoke, Birmingham
and Coventry.
By Bus
Daily connections to the airport from
Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Luton airport, Gatwick
airport and Heathrow airport by National Express.
In addition there are services from
Nottingham and Derby which pass through local towns and villages.
Skylink runs half hourly services
from Nottingham city centre to the airport stopping at the
train station and Clifton.
By Rail
There is no direct rail link to the
airport and the distances from the airport are considerable.
The main stations are Nottingham, Derby and Loughborough.
