Manchester Airport Terminal Facilities

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 departures are located on the second floor. This can either be reached by lifts if you are coming off the airport car park or you will be dropped outside the main entrance doors by most of the off airport car park operators. If coming by rail the terminal is connected to the railway station by a fairly long walk by an enclosed walkway, which has escalators running for most of its length. Terminal 2 can be reached using the same passageway. Terminal 1 and terminal 3 are interconnected. Terminal 3 in essence is the base for British Airways and domestic flights.

Finding a trolley on this floor at peak times is something of a lottery although there are usually plenty available on arrivals. As you come through the main doors you will face a large screen advising you of your check in desk.

Once through the check in desk and before security control you will find a variety of shops to have a drink or a snack along with gift shops, WH Smiths for newspapers and Boots to top up on your sun tan creams.

Most of the toilets have disabled facilities and baby changing facilities in the women’s toilets. Pay phones are available in the retail and catering areas. The main information desk is located in arrivals on the ground floor although blue courtesy phones will connect you to the information desk.

Cash machines and travel bureau facilities are available with Co-op Bank providing a full banking service. Post boxes and stamp machines are in the main shopping area with a Post Office on arrivals.

Left luggage is near Airtours (Mytravel), which have a separate check in desk.
There are a good variety of restaurants, bars and gift shops in terminal 1 but at peak times it can become very crowded and you should consider paying that little extra for use of the vip lounge which we at Flypark are able to arrange.

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 was built in 1993 and is a spacious terminal with plenty of capacity for growth. Departures are on the first floor and arrivals on the ground floor. The terminal is once again connected by a walkway to the railway station and terminal 1.

In terms of facilities and provision for special needs this terminal is a virtual replica of terminal 1 and the table below is a quick guide to the food and drink outlets and shops for all the terminals.
