Stansted Airport
during the late nineties and up to the start of the recession Stansted was the fastest growing airport in the UK passing Manchester airport to make it the third busiest behind Heathrow and Gatwick. The second runway deemed necessary to continue this expansion has recently been turned down, however, dramatic falls in passengers levels have been seen since 2007 showing this airport to be very much dependent on holidaymaker traffic.
